Contemporary Staffing Solutions is currently looking for a SAS Developer and a Sr. Market Analyst.

CSS Tech is working with a client in Norristown, PA in search of a SAS Developer. 6 month contract, possibilty of extension. Local candidates preferred:

Rate: negotiable

Experience:

  • Possess 3-5 years experience in developing in SAS, including familiarity with PROC SQL
  • Be experienced in developing and deploying code in a production environment, including testing methodology, documentation, and change management
  • Possess good written and oral communication skills
  • Be experienced with relational databases as data sources, particularly Oracle
  • Be used to working on a project schedule with discrete deadlines and deliverables
  • Have some experience in requirements gathering
  • Be able to work with others in a constructive and collaborative manner.

Desired:

  • Experience in the electric utility field.
  • Economics or statistics background.
  • Data warehousing experience.
  • Strong experience with SQL and/or PROC SQL in SAS.
  • Local to the area.
  • Experience using SAS functionality, and/or other tools, for output delivery.
  • Experience using Crystal Reports, preferably in an enterprise environment.

CSS Tec currently has a client in Norristown, PA that is looking to hire a Sr. Market Analyst.

This is slated as a 6 month contract to possible hire position.

o  Demonstrated ability to work independently in pursuit of departmental goals and objectives
o  Work with computer models and other analysis tools and techniques to simulate, understand and track market behavior.
o  Analyze historical market information using business software packages and statistical software tools (ex SAS)
o  Develop analyses designed to review participants behavior and determine if that behavior does not comport with market rules

o  Develop analyses of markets in order to identify the potential for market power, the exercise of market power or structural problems within the evolving competitive markets.

o  Conduct ongoing analysis of operating rules, standards, procedures and practices in order to detect design flaws.
o  Monitor and analyze existing study methods and promote the development of new methods and the introduction of improved and emerging technologies.

o  Provide data handling, data analysis and modeling support to the Market Monitoring function including designing and implementing market power indices and working with database administrators to define and maintain an efficient database model to handle the large volumes of data required to monitor the Energy Market.

o  Prepare presentations and professionally written reports of analysis to support activities.

o  B.S. Degree in economics, engineering (electrical), computer science, finance or equivalent.
o  Demonstrated ability to use and analyze complex data, to test hypotheses and to draw conclusions.
o  Demonstrated ability and willingness to use and learn to use computer software to analyze complex data, to test hypotheses and to draw conclusions.

o  Demonstrated abilities of effective analytical and reasoning capabilities, refined verbal skills, and presentation skills.

o  Ability to effectively present information to peers, management and public groups
o  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
o  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

o  Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations to various economic problems or power system engineering problems

o  Ability to apply expertise in solving new and complex problems and developing innovative strategies

Technical:
o  Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Excel for graphing and other data analysis - should be at least intermediate if not advanced user

o  Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft PowerPoint for creating presentations
o  Experience with SQL, SAS, or other programming languages (need to understand and have some experience with programming, not necessarily with SAS)

o  Experience with or exposure to relational databases (preferably Oracle)

Preferred:

o Strong interpersonal skills
o Strong writing skills
o Demonstrated ability to plan, execute and complete complex analyses on schedule and on budget
o Demonstrated ability to use SAS to analyze complex data, to test hypotheses and to draw conclusions.
o  An in-depth understanding of economic theory and industrial organization literature; or power system engineering concepts, principles, theories, regulations, standards, reliability concepts and techniques.

o  Ability to effectively work on teams committed to organization goals.
