To help continue our success, we are in search of a high energy, action/results oriented, hands-on, dedicated, reliable, self-motivated organized and seasoned Marketing Research/Analyst for QVC’s Marketing Research & Sales Analysis Division.

The successful candidate, under general supervision, will be responsible for providing marketing analysis on one or more of the following areas; sales, vendors, customers, shows, air-time, hosts, individual product performance, and returns. Advise cleints of the information available, system capabilities and how to request information from the system to promote the smooth transition of data between departments. Work extensively with Merchandising, Programming, Marketing, Finance Departments and other internal clients to create goals and action oriented findings through primary and secondary research. Perform analysis, database queries, and data maintenance determined in conjunction with client to meet their needs. Collect and analyze data on established and prospective customers, and use various forecasting methods and models to predict future outcomes.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Sociology, or Psychology or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.
  • Minimum 2-5 years analytical experience required.
  • Must have basic knowledge of research related information software (SAS, SQL, Access, Excel, etc.) and analytical systems.
  • Basic knowledge of statistical techniques and research methods.

The intern will have the opportunity to perform one or more of the following types of tasks: Supports an overriding Customer- driven orientation through providing data on Customer expectations, Customer-perceived performance, and competitive positioning. Acts as an internal consultant in Customer-driven process design and evaluation. Supports administration of Customer contact programs, development of databases, statistical analyses, and reporting on ad hoc and ongoing programs. Analysis linking various data sources, such as coordination between external survey research results and internal purchasing and demographic profiles If background is statistics: Modeling and other multi- variety statistical analyses (Regression, Factor Analysis, LOGIT, Causal Modeling, etc.) to determine quantifiable drivers of Customer loyalty Develop integrated reporting structures to capture results of ongoing data collection efforts in Customer Feedback and Customer Complaints and yield meaningful management reports and presentations. Assist in internal quality and Customer Focus educational efforts for other departments and QVC new hires Support Voice-of-the-Customer reporting efforts through review and classification of open-ended comments captured from the more than 25, 000 Customer Service inbound calls each day. Execute routine database queries using SAS and/or Microsoft Access for evaluations of quality and performance of specific QVC products. Participate in process and product quality improvement task groups by providing data and analyses to support process / product redesign.

Qualifications & Requirements:

QVC will consider students who have completed at least one to two semesters of college in the following majors: Major in Marketing Research, Quality, and Social Sciences with statistics courses.

Experience in the following:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Access.
  • SAS and/or SPSS experience desirable but not required. ·Interest in Customer Loyalty field and or Total Quality Management strongly preferred.
