JOB TITLE:	Manager, Database Programming (clinical data management)
Pay Rate:	Permanent position, up to $120K plus bonus depending on experience
Location:	Philadelphia area
	Basic Purpose of Position: To manage and maintain the clinical data management (CDM) systems used in support of the company's clinical trials. Provide internal expertise in the database management system(s) and in the specific data management software package(s) used to manage clinical trial data . Provide leadership in the implementation and validation of CDM systems and to assist the Director, CDM in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies. Provide training for CDM staff in the appropriate use and maintenance of the CDM systems. Principal Responsibilities: Projects: Ensures that databases are set up and validated in time Ensures that SOPs and guidelines are followed in creating, locking, and archiving the clinical databases for all clinical trials. Ensures that staff members are appropriately trained in the procedures surrounding the CDM systems; Ensures that procedures for loading of external data are in place Ensures that links to other systems (Clintrace, autoencoder, query tools, SAS/ACCESS etc.) are in place and working appropriately for each project Provides ad-hoc programming support to the clinical data coordinator as needed (including status reports, metrics reports, clinical review listings, database qc listings) Technical: Oversees and leads validation, installation, and maintenance of the computer systems employed to support clinical trial efforts Develops metrics reports from the data management software package(s) used Assists the Director and VP of Biometrics in making recommendations for new CDM technologies Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field and 5+ years of experience in programming in data management. In-depth experience in all three of the following fields: SAS programming; PL-SQL programming; setting up clinical databases on an Oracle-based system. Experience with development of generic software (SAS-Macro language; or PL-SQL packages)

JOB TITLE:	Database Programmer II (clinical data management)

Location:	Philadelphia area
	Basic Purpose of Position: The DP II performs all routine database programming tasks on a data management project independently. Principal Responsibilities: Principal Responsibilities: Projects: The DP II performs all the tasks of a DP I, and in addition the following tasks: Design clinical databases by annotating the CRF Program all study-specific edit checks and review listings Import and check non-CRF data such as electronic laboratory data Convert data extracted from databases into target structure Technical ("Infrastructure") Assist in Computer Systems Validation efforts Assist in software development to improve infrastructure (e.g. programming of status/metric reports, or adaptation of generic reports to study-specific needs) Other tasks as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field and 2+ years of experience in programming in data management. Candidates with lesser education may qualify if experience and demonstrated skills are commensurate.At least in-depth experience in one and basic experience in one more of the following fields: SAS programming; PL-SQL programming; setting up clinical databases - preferably in an Oracle-based system.
