PhilaSUG (Philadelphia Area SAS Users Group) sponsors three meetings per year where papers, posters, and live demonstrations are presented to the SAS user community. Membership is open to anyone who is involved in the use of SAS software and who pays nominal dues to cover the operating costs of a non-profit organization. An executive committee made up of volunteers who are members of PhilaSUG meets approximately six times a year to select speakers, locate meeting sites, and make general policy decisions for the group. Speakers are either recruited by the executive committee or self-motivated individuals can submit abstracts for consideration. Criteria for paper selection reflect current interests among the PhilaSUG membership. Overall, PhilaSUG exists to increase the SAS skills of its members.
